What is a pre roll?

A pre-roll is short for pre-rolled joint/spliff/blunt etc. Anything qualifies as a pre-roll that is either rolled for a later session or rolled by your favourite cannabis producer. They often come in packs of one, three, eight, or 10.  

What does a pre-roll have in it?

The short answer is weed. The longer answer is it depends. It could be indica or sativa dominant flower, it can range from a wide variety of cannabis strains. How do you know if a pre-roll is good?

The best way to measure the quality of cannabis products is to be able to inspect and smell the buds of the strains themselves. However, there are a few things you can do when assessing a pre-roll:

Are pre-rolls the same as blunts?

No, but we understand the potential confusion because some pre-rolls are blunts but not all blunts are pre-rolls. A simple way to remember is this: blunts that come already rolled = pre-roll, blunt that you roll yourself = a blunt. 

What to look for when buying pre-rolls?

Like when you shop for cannabis flower or concentrates, ask yourself what kind of experience you’re looking for. If this is a daytime adventure on the slopes or a creative work session you’re going to lean towards a sativa dominant or hybrid pre-roll. But if you’re looking to get lit up or just melt into your couch, a more indica-dominant pre-roll might be the way to go. If you want to get high af then an infused pre-roll is the way. 

How much does a pre-roll cost in Canada?

A long overdue first experience with Lot420’s Gelato 33. This strain is a cross between Sunset Sherbet and Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies. Buds are dense and surprisingly fresh considering the year old packaging date of May 25th, 2021. Nose is sweet, citrusy, and floral. Taste is a mirror or the nose with a hint of mint. High was euphoric, energetic, and uplifting, with very little burnout. Total THC percentage on this batch was 26%. Total terpene percentages are not listed on the jar, but info on the site states it’s somewhere between 2-3%. I’ve seen quite a few reviews heaping praise on this flower, or suggesting it to those looking for a recommendation. I now see why. Gelato 33 from Lot420 is an exceptional smoking experience. Absolute must try, and easily one of the best gelato strains I’ve ever smoked. I definitely will be purchasing this again, hopefully a fresher packaging date, and in a larger format (if that’s even a thing).

Okay everyone! The best turn of events happened and I smoked it anyway. Despite that gap which I pushed in a little bit, it got filled with all that gooey infused goodness and made for really good airflow for large hits through that whole joint. It was fucking delicious! Cracking the seal I was greeted with a super strong peach smell, it didn’t disappoint at all in smell. It also definitely smells like you could eat it.

The smoke was super smooth with a white ash and an unbelievably strong peach flavour in the smoke. Very yummy smoke. I did find the flavour tailed off with about a 1/4 left of the joint. Also burns fairly slow, took me a good ten minutes to smoke to my head.

Overall I thought this was pretty good and had fun smoking it so definitely recommend.
